Aminex in Tanzania

Aminex made its initial investment in Tanzania in 2002 and has operated in-country for 22 years.

The Company has demonstrated an ability to find, appraise and develop fields successfully from initial concept through to production. Tanzania has been the focus of Aminex’s oil and gas activities with a long-standing belief that the area has been under-explored for hydrocarbons and shows potential for oil generation and subsurface entrapment.

Whilst significant gas and associated condensate volumes have been discovered, in recent years, in both Tanzania and adjacent Mozambique, oil continues to be elusive.

Aminex conducts its operations in Tanzania through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ndovu Resources Limited with extensive and constructive relationships with local stakeholders including the country’s national oil company, the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) and upstream regulator, Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA).
